To be successful in the Salesforce ecosystem, a willingness to learn is paramount for our team at Internet Creations. No one understands that better than Senior Account Executive, Jon Logerfo, who entered the company six years ago with no sales or Salesforce experience. Since then, by leveraging his natural skills and abilities as well as guidance from the team around him, Jon has learned to focus on listening-to-partner with his customers, and he is now thriving in his career at IC.

Jon works with technologically innovative companies including Honeywell and Illumio, across a variety of industries like enterprise building automation, telecommunication, and data storage / security. Jon partners with these leading-edge brands to solve business problems, and as their relationship grows over time, to support new initiatives that drive business.

A day in the life of an Account Executive at Internet Creations involves meeting with prospects and customers to help open the doors to IC’s delivery team, matching IC’s applications to business pressures, and guiding customers through their Salesforce strategies.

We asked Jon what he believes the key drivers to his success at IC have been:

“I quickly learned that this job is less about ‘selling’ and more about listening.”

“I’m naturally a people-person, and have always enjoyed speaking with people and getting to know them; I enjoy building relationships. These innate skills served me well, as a launching pad into my AE role from day 1. I quickly learned that this job is less about ‘selling’ and more about listening. If I am unable to really hear what my customer’s challenge or goal is, I won’t be able to come up with the best solution to suit their needs; I’d just be selling them something.

Over the years, with guidance from our CEO, Chad Meyer, as well as our Director of Sales, George Guhr, they helped me to understand that the customer’s success is more important than our own, and in fact, our customer’s success IS our success. Rather than focusing on just closing the deal like some of ‘the other guys’, I’ve learned to be patient and put the customer first. I take the time to listen so I can understand what a customer needs versus what they want, because sometimes those are different.

This thinking has widened my perspective enough to see the bigger picture and has enabled me to truly partner with organizations, inspiring confidence and building trust along the way. Because I’ve been focused on demonstrating my ability to develop valuable solutions and building credibility as a trusted partner, it has resulted in more work for our company, as well as countless customer referrals. This is what ultimately makes me successful as a sales executive.”

George Guhr, IC’s Director of Sales, agrees. “Along with his inviting personality and friendly nature, Jon is genuinely passionate about our solutions and creating positive business change for customers. Couple those traits with his boundless internal drive, and it’s easy to see why Jon is a highly effective Account Executive.”

“Internet Creations has become a second family to me, and it’s easy to see why – it’s filled with driven, genuine, and good people. I’m looking forward to working with my team for many years to come.”

Which fundamentals of The IC Way* does Jon believe are most critical to his success as an Account Executive?

Bring it Everyday (#11) is imperative because on a day-to-day basis, I need to be at my best. Everyday is different in sales, it’s fluid. I want to stay in front of the unexpected – to anticipate the needs of my customers and the business challenges they face, and to stay knowledgeable around what Salesforce is releasing. I’ve got to keep my eye on that and drive towards that goal.

At the same time, it’s important not to rush a deal or become short-sighted, to ensure we are providing the very best solution to support the bigger picture, and so IC’s #1 fundamental to Understand and Provide the Why is equally as important. Understanding what we are truly solving for and WHY are we recommending the products or services we are is key for adding real long-term value to a business as well as developing long-lasting and productive customer partnerships.

Internet Creations has become a second family to me, and it’s easy to see why – it’s filled with driven, genuine, and good people. I’m looking forward to working with my team for many years to come.”
