Internet Creations Marks 20 Years in Business with Epic Gala Celebration
As the rain pelted down on the roof of Rat’s Restaurant at the company’s 20th Anniversary Gala on Saturday, May, 21, Internet Creations CEO Chad Meyer joked that thankfully his company is “not in the weather business.” But no storm could dampen the spirits of the Gala attendees who enjoyed delectable food, were awed by the gorgeous, eclectic atmosphere and danced the night away as The Nerds took to the stage.
By leveraging the power of the cloud-based CRM platform Salesforce, Internet Creations has succeeded in assisting clients around the world in maximizing efficiency and overcoming business challenges by using technology. Internet Creations CEO and Founder Chad Meyer welcomed guests to the company’s 20th Anniversary Gala at Rat’s.
Before a crowd of employees, vendors, colleagues and friends – all who have helped Internet Creations grow into the successful company it is today – Meyer explained his company started out as a hobby when he was a teenager. In 1996, he was intrigued by the concept of the Internet and wanted to make websites.
“I was in high school then. The work was a lot of fun and I was really happy that the business was generating enough revenue for bubble gum and beer,” Meyer said. “As it grew, I roped in friends and acquaintances to work with me; I liked them, and wanted them to like me, which made me fanatical about making work enjoyable.”
The company, then known as Internet Creations 2000 (IC2K), convinced a couple of companies to allow them to learn on the job and attracted media attention and the rest is now history. At the turn of the Century, IC2K became Internet Creations.
Meyer says he focused on growing the business in 2011, when revenue was about $1M. That next year, 2012, revenue was $2.2M. Today, Internet Creations is a $5M+ company with over 35 employees. It has been named to the Inc. 5000 Fastest Growing Companies list and twice named a Best Place to Work in New Jersey by NJBIZ magazine.
Customer relationships are a critical component of Internet Creations’ success. However, Meyer and his team believe customer service depends on how a company treats its employees. In fact, Internet Creations developed and expanded rapidly over the years because Chad’s management philosophy is deeply rooted in human capital. He believes choosing and retaining the right people in key business roles is critical to success.
Moments before the rain began, the Internet Creations team gathered on the Giverny bridge steps from Rat’s Restaurant in the gorgeous Grounds for Sculpture.
By investing in and supporting his employees, Meyer is able to step back, knowing that each member of the team is always in pursuit of quality and value, for all stakeholders. “I believe that if you treat your employees well, they’ll treat your customers well, and that’s fundamental to healthy growth,” he said.
